    On 9–10 November 2024, the “LTU Aquatics” Team Cup competition took place in Druskininkai. The event brought together high-level swimmers, including VILNIUS TECH Faculty of Business Management student Antanas Ežerskis.

    The student achieved 5th place out of 27 in the 50 m backstroke event. In the 100 m and 200 m backstroke events, he placed 7th out of 22.

    When asked how he felt at the start of the competition, Antanas stated that he was very satisfied with his results, especially as he had experienced disruptions in training at the beginning of the season. He also noted that he gave his full effort during the competition and achieved better results than expected. The swimmer added that reaching the final, with strong support from the audience, created a motivating atmosphere and encouraged him to prepare further for the Lithuanian Championship.

  • Kettlebell Lifting

    VILNIUS TECH student becomes World Champion

    On 10–14 October 2024, the World Kettlebell Lifting Championship took place in Corfu, where VILNIUS TECH student Danutė Šalkauskaitė competed. The championship brought together more than 600 athletes from 31 countries.

    D Šalkauskaitė competed on Friday, the first day of the championship. She took part in the under-23 age group in the under 73 kg category. She completed 147 snatches with a 16 kg kettlebell, securing the gold medal.

    VILNIUS TECH student Danutė Šalkauskaitė becomes European Champion

    On 17–21 April 2024, the European Kettlebell Lifting Championship took place in Paris. Representing the Lithuanian national team, Danutė Šalkauskaitė became European Champion.

    Competing in the under 73 kg weight category, she performed 200 snatches with a 16 kg kettlebell and achieved her personal best result.

    Lithuanian Student Sport Shooting Championship

    2025/2026 academic year

    On 25 October, the Lithuanian Student Sport Shooting Championship took place at the Kaunas Sports School “Gaja”, bringing together the best shooters from higher education institutions across Lithuania. Students from Vilnius Gediminas Technical University VILNIUS TECH, Vytautas Magnus University VDU, Vilnius University VU, Mykolas Romeris University MRU, Kaunas University of Technology KTU, and St Ignatius of Loyola College participated in the competition.

    This year’s championship was historic, as VILNIUS TECH students won the team cup for the first time and became overall champions.

    In the women’s air pistol (PP-40) event, Ugnė Vaickelionytė won 1st place with 380 points.
    Ela Polivoda achieved 3rd place with 348 points.

    In the men’s air pistol (PP-40) event, Dominykas Lapienis won 1st place with 335 points.

    In the men’s air rifle (PŠ-40) event, Dovydas Legatas placed 4th with 390 points.

    Lithuanian Student Sport Shooting Championship

    2024/2025 academic year

    The Lithuanian Student Sport Shooting Championship took place on 26 October 2024 at the “Gaja” Sports School. Students from VDU, VU, MRU, KTU, VILNIUS TECH, the Lithuanian Military Academy, ISM University of Management and Economics, St Ignatius of Loyola College, and other higher education institutions in Kaunas competed in air rifle and air pistol events. Students from Vilnius Gediminas Technical University VILNIUS TECH also took part in the championship.

    In the women’s air pistol (PP-40) event, student Ela Polivoda achieved 3rd place with 348 points.
    In the men’s air rifle (PŠ-40) event, student Dovydas Legatas scored 368.1 points and placed 6th.

    22–24 November 2024, Belgium

    At the international student “PCU Chess Cup” tournament, VILNIUS TECH students achieved strong results.

    In the main Rapid tournament, Nikita Posaškov took 1st place, and in the Blitz tournament he secured 3rd place.
    Vilius Peršinas placed 4th in the Rapid tournament and 10th in the Blitz tournament.

    According to Nikita and Vilius, the tournament was challenging, but they showed a high level of performance against international opponents. They returned from Belgium with positive emotions and increased motivation.

    In the obstacle course stage, the VILNIUS TECH team (Edvinas Narkevič, Giedrė Vitkutė, Paulius Piešina, Justinas Tamulynas, and Lukas Semenkavičius) won with a time of 10:26.56.

    In the rally stage, the VILNIUS TECH team achieved 3rd place.
