Computer Vision Engineer – Baltic Institute of Advanced Technology (BPTI)

Baltic Institute of Advanced Technology (BPTI) is expanding its team and looking for a Computer Vision Engineer to contribute to the development of advanced computer vision and deep learning solutions.

What you will do

  • Develop, train, evaluate, and optimize computer vision models for object detection, classification, segmentation, and tracking.
  • Work with image and video data from cameras and other sensors, including preprocessing, dataset preparation, and performance analysis.
  • Contribute to applied research and the development of practical technology solutions.
  • Collaborate with specialists in software engineering, signal processing, and related fields.
  • Contribute to local and international R&D projects.

Requirements

  • A bachelor’s or master’s degree in a STEM field, or equivalent relevant practical experience.
  • Experience working in Linux environments (remote servers, command-line tools, version control, standard development workflows).
  • Good working knowledge of the Python computer vision and deep learning stack (NumPy, PyTorch, OpenCV, ONNX, TensorRT, or similar tools).
  • Practical experience with modern computer vision architectures, including CNNs and Vision Transformers (ViTs).
  • Willingness to learn and the ability to solve non-standard technical problems.

Nice to have

  • Experience working with sonar, radar, multispectral, or other non-standard sensor data.
  • Experience deploying machine learning models in real-time systems or on edge devices.
