Professor Viktor Gribniak of the Faculty of Civil Engineering at Vilnius Gediminas Technical University (VILNIUS TECH), has been appointed Editor-in-Chief of Engineering Structures and Technologies, a scientific journal published by VILNIUS TECH. His objectives are to modernise the journal’s editorial and publishing processes, enhance its international visibility, and further develop it as an open-access scholarly platform for disseminating research findings generated by research groups, doctoral researchers, early-career scholars, and international research projects.
Established in 2009, Engineering Structures and Technologies operates under the Diamond Open Access model, allowing authors to publish free of charge and readers to access published content without restriction. The journal covers research in civil engineering, structural analysis, materials, and related technologies. All submissions undergo double-blind peer review, every article is assigned a Digital Object Identifier (DOI), and the journal’s publishing practices adhere to the ethical guidelines of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE). To disseminate research findings promptly, the journal uses a continuous publication model, publishing articles that have completed peer review as soon as they are ready, without waiting to compile a complete issue.
The journal is currently undergoing a renewal process, with particular emphasis on supporting doctoral researchers, early-career scholars, research groups, and participants in international research projects seeking a peer-reviewed publication venue for their findings. To support authors in preparing manuscripts for publication, the new Editor-in-Chief is prepared to provide preliminary consultations on manuscript preparation prior to formal submission through the ScholarOne platform.
