Where do we come from? Where are we going? Do science and faith inevitably conflict when speaking about the origin of the universe?

We invite you to a public lecture that will delve into these fundamental questions. While science and faith are often presented as incompatible, the account of the origin of the Universe developed by physicists in the 20th century suggests that the universe had a beginning—much like the account in the Book of Genesis.

This lecture will explore how these two pathways to truth, with their radically different methods, can complement one another and what they reveal about the origin of the Universe.

Speaker: Dr. Florian Gahbauer, who received his Ph.D. from the University of Chicago. He is currently a senior researcher at the Laser Centre of the University of Latvia’s Faculty of Science and Technology, as well as an adjunct associate research scientist at Columbia University in New York.

The lecture will take place:

  • Date: April 21st (Tuesday)

  • Time: 13:45–14:30

  • Location: S1 building, 6th floor hall

  • Language: English

You are warmly invited to attend
