Mendeley: reference management tool

Mendeley serves as a complimentary reference management tool designed to help in storing, organising, annotating, sharing, and citing reference and research data. Users have the option to use the web version, the desktop application, or both, depending on their requirements.

Key features of Mendeley include:

  • Online collaboration with fellow researchers
  • Easy importation of papers from another research software
  • Identification of relevant papers based on current readings
  • The ability to access articles from any online location
The enhanced Mendeley Reference Manager, developed based on research feedback, offers a faster and more efficient reference management experience. Users can consolidate all references into a centralised Mendeley library for organisation, search, and reading. The Mendeley Notebook facilitates the gathering of highlights and notes from multiple PDFs, while Mendeley Cite, a new citation add-in for Microsoft® Word, streamlines the referencing process.

Exhibition “Kaleidoscope” by Mindaugas Užkuraitis Presented in Gallery A
On May 21, the presentation of Mindaugas Užkuraitis’ exhibition “Kaleidoscope” took place. Mindaugas Užkuraitis is an Associate Professor at the VILNIUS TECH Faculty of Architecture, Head of the Department of Design, Chief Artist at LRT, and a member of the Lithuanian Design Forum. His professional practice includes scenography for television, concerts, and public events. He has created stage designs for the national selection finals of Eurovision, the finals of Dainų dainelė, the Lithuanian of the Year Awards, as well as for TV programs such as Lietuva kalba, Rinkimai, LRT Forumas, and other projects. “In this exhibition, I continue my exploration of color, layering, and fragmented forms. I am interested in how different elements come together into a unified image that constantly shifts depending on the viewer’s perspective. The principle of a kaleidoscope resonates with me because there is no single stable composition – the image is continuously changing, yet the structure remains. Working with spray paint, stencils, and layers, I aim to create visual systems where both chance and control emerge. These works are not about a specific narrative – they are about the process of seeing: how an image forms, breaks apart, and reassembles into a new whole,” notes the exhibition’s author, Mindaugas Užkuraitis. The observance underscores the global significance of maintaining ecological balance, preventing species extinction, and ensuring the sustainable use of natural resources. Today, biodiversity conservation is closely intertwined not only with the natural sciences, but also with technological innovation, engineering solutions, and the sustainable development of urban environments and infrastructure. Rapid climate change, environmental pollution, urbanization, and the intensive exploitation of natural resources are driving the need for innovative approaches. Consequently, biodiversity-related challenges are increasingly relevant across a wide range of disciplines — from environmental engineering and energy systems to construction, transportation, and smart city technologies.
