The Council of Vilnius Gediminas Technical University (hereinafter – VILNIUS TECH) announces a public competition for the position of Rector of the University. The election of the Rector is organised in accordance with the Law on Higher Education and Research of the Republic of Lithuania and the Statute of Vilnius Gediminas Technical University.
The VILNIUS TECH Council elects the Rector for a five-year term of office through a public competition in accordance with the procedure for the election of the Rector of Vilnius Gediminas Technical University. Applicants’ documents will be accepted from July 1 until August 3, 3:00 p.m.
Researchers who meet the requirements set out in the Law on Higher Education and Research of the Republic of Lithuania and the Statute of VILNIUS TECH are invited to participate in the competition. A candidate wishing to participate in the election process must submit documents proving the scientific degree, accademic title and managerial and leadership experience, a curriculum vitae, a vision for VILNIUS TECH and operational guidelines for the candidate’s term as Rector, any other documents that the applicant considers relevant to the competition for the position of Rector.
Documents must be submitted in a sealed envelope in person or sent by registered mail. The envelope must indicate: „For the Rector election competition of Vilnius Gediminas Technical University, Document Management Office, Room 702, Saulėtekio al. 11, 10223 Vilnius“.
The list of applicants, their CVs, the candidates’ visions for the University, and operational guidelines will be published on the VILNIUS TECH website at the end of August. At the end of September, an open joint meeting of the VILNIUS TECH Senate and Council will be held to present the candidates for the position of Rector. The election of the Rector will take place during a closed meeting of the VILNIUS TECH Council.
