History of the Faculty
1994
The Faculty of Transport Engineering was established.
1995
Doctoral studies in the field of Transport Engineering were launched.
1997
The faculty moved to the Transport Building at Plytinės St 27.
1998
The international conference “Transbaltica” was launched.
2009
The faculty’s scientific journal “Transport” gained international recognition.
2011
Joint doctoral studies were launched in cooperation with KU and VDU (KTU joined in 2017).
2012
Students designed and built an electric vehicle.
2015
Transport Logistics studies in English and double degree programmes in cooperation with Windesheim University of Applied Sciences (Netherlands) were launched.
2016
The first dissertation prepared in English was defended at the faculty.
2017
Transport Engineering study programmes in English were launched.
2018
The VILNIUS TECH Racing student maker team was established.
2019
The 6000th diploma was awarded to a faculty graduate.
2020
Construction of new faculty laboratory and academic buildings began.
2021
Prof Habil Dr Marijonas Bogdevičius was elected a full member of the Lithuanian Academy of Sciences.
2022
A driving simulator was developed, and e-sports racing activities were launched.
2023
The Faculty of Transport Engineering is relocated to the new VILNIUS TECH Plytinė buildings.
