Hack the Future City
Hack the Future City invites beginner-level students to jump into rapid prototyping and get their hands on tools like 3D modeling, 3D printing, laser cutting, woodworking, metalworking, CNC, and more. Structured as a two-week hackathon, the programme opens with a fully remote week built around theory sessions, applied workshops, and collaborative teamwork, then moves to a full week of on-site building at VILNIUS TECH’s “Linkmenų fabrikas” workshops in Vilnius, Lithuania.
Sustainability and the circular economy – rethinking how new products get developed with circularity in mind, and how recycled materials can become the starting point for something entirely new.
When and where:
- January 18th - 22nd lectures online,
- Online "Zoom" platform,
- January 25th - 29th – workshops on-site in Vilnius, Lithuania,
- On-site at Vilnius Gediminas technical university "LinkMenu fabrikas", Vilnius, Lithuania. (Linkmenų g. 28)
Cost:
- The winter school is free of charge!
- The school is implemented in Erasmus+ Blended Intensive Programme (BIP) mode.
- Contact your institution’s International Relations Office regarding the funding for opportunities for traveling and accommodation costs.
Candidate requirements:
- English proficiency (minimum B1 level in listening, speaking, reading, and writing);
- Student of product design, mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, or a relevant field;
- Basic knowledge of rapid prototyping and product design;
- Ability to work in a team in a multicultural environment.

School dates: January 18th – January 29th, 2027

Once you’ve submitted your application, please wait for our acceptance letter. If you are invited, the email from us will reach you after the sign-up is closed.

After receiving our confirmation, please contact your institution’s International Relations Office to explore available funding opportunities and next steps. The name of this Blended Intensive Programme (BIP) is „Innovation in Construction“.
The school is free of charge. The school is implemented in Erasmus+ Blended Intensive Programme (BIP) mode. Funding is provided by sending institution for traveling and accommodation costs. Housing is not provided from receiving institution.
