We invite you to visit the photography exhibition "City portraits" by Dr. Juliana Smirnova. You will find the exhibition in Gallery A (on the second floor, Saulėtekio al. 14,) at the VILNIUS TECH Library.
The main photography directions of the exhibition's author, Juliana Smirnova, include natural landscapes, urban highlights, and people amidst these surroundings. The photographs seek parallels between the image and the feelings it evokes, exploring the theme of modern people's relationship with their environment.
The images presented in Juliana Smirnova’s exhibition "City portraits" were captured in various countries and different cities. Typically, the interpretation of the word "portrait" is associated with the image of a person or a group of people, but this exhibition suggests thinking that a city could also be perceived as a living organism that grows and changes together with its inhabitants and even thanks to temporary passers-by. And this means that every city could have its own portrait. Who creates it? Nature, people, architecture? Probably, at every moment and for every observer, it will be a different portrait.
The exhibition "City portraits" is Juliana Smirnova's fourth personal photography exhibition. The photos are being exhibited for the first time. Dr. Juliana Smirnova is the assoc. professor at the Faculty of Business Management, VILNIUS TECH.
The meeting with the author will take place on 2026 January 16, 14.30 p.m. in Gallery A.
The exhibition at Gallery A is open until January 30.
