Assessment and Recognition of Non-Formal and Informal Competencies
Vilnius Gediminas Technical University (VILNIUS TECH) recognizes competencies acquired in non-formal and informal way. During this process, it is determined whether the applicant's knowledge and abilities correspond to the defined learning outcomes of the subject, module, study programme or its part. We inform you that after the initial steps of the procedure, a specialist from the relevant faculty will be assigned to the candidate, who will help prepare for the evaluation and recognition procedure and prepare all the necessary documents.
Requirements for those wishing to apply for the assessment and recognition procedure of competencies acquired in non-formal and informal way:
- Candidate seeking recognition of competences must have at least a high school education certificate;
- Candidate must have at least two years of practical work experience in the field for which competences recognition is sought;
- Candidate must have evidence of achievements of competencies acquired in non-formal and informal way (certificates, verifications, etc.);
- Candidate must study at VILNIUS TECH (the amount of study credits that can be awarded for the candidate's non-formal and informal competences may not exceed 70% of the study program)
Fees for assessment and recognition of competences acquired in non-formal and informal way:
- Fee for the examination costs of the request to participate in the competency assessment and recognition procedure (35 EUR);
- Fee for expected credits (19 eur for 1 credit).

- Documents confirming education;
- Completed application to start the competency assessment procedure (you can find the template at the bottom of this page).
