About the course

The course provides a comprehensive understanding of the concepts and tools used to measure and assess sustainable development in an organisational context. It also develops the ability to analyse and evaluate sustainability performance from a financial perspective.

Topics covered in the course

  • Introduction to sustainable development. Overview of EU and Lithuanian documents related to sustainable development
  • Three dimensions of sustainable development economic, social, and environmental sustainability at micro, meso (industry or city), and macro levels. Integration of sustainability into organisational management
  • Sustainable development in organisations. Key performance indicators (KPIs). Sustainability indices and indicators
  • Environmental aspects carbon footprint, CO2 offsetting, carbon credits, energy consumption, water footprint, waste generation and management. Theory and practical sessions
  • Social aspects stakeholder engagement, employee wellbeing, business ethics, and corporate social responsibility
  • Economic aspects. How to achieve sustainable development. The role of investment in sustainable development. Methods for measuring and assessing sustainability
  • Sustainability reporting. Reporting frameworks (GRI, SASB, etc.)
  • Sustainable organisational development as a driver of organisational value. Evaluation and analysis of the relationship between organisational value, financial performance, and sustainability
