VILNIUS TECH invites you – donate one Christmas euro for a shelter
While we prepare for exams and look forward to the upcoming winter holidays, our friends at Kherson National Technical University (KNTU) in Ukraine, unfortunately, for the third year now may have to spend it taking their exams in the university basement with air raid sirens wailing around them.
To ensure that our fellow faculty members and engineering students in Ukraine are safer this Christmas, all it takes is one of your Christmas euros. The university, located close to the front line, is constantly affected: windows are periodically shattered, roofs are damaged, and the third building still lacks a shelter.
What can one euro of your support do? One euro together with another euro and another builds a shelter! There’s many of us: about 1,700 employees, about 9,000 students, and about 90,000 alumni – united for a common goal, by New Year’s we can raise funds for a new shelter at Kherson National Technical University.
We will equip it with unique, easily assembled furniture made from plywood, created by our university's researchers. The installation of such a shelter costs about 20,000 to 30,000 euros, so every Christmas euro from each of us will be an important contribution.
While we all gather euro by euro, the Lithuanian furniture for the shelter will be designed, adapted, and manufactured to make the space of Beryslavske shosse 22 (in Kherson) safer to do lectures in until the danger passes. We have a chance to provide a secure haven to our engineering friends and future creators of Ukraine. There’s no need to donate large sums: even 1 euro can become a much-needed Christmas gift.
You can transfer your support to a special university’s account until The New Year’s:
