VILNIUS TECH and TalTech Collaboration in Sustainability and Engineering
On 1–3 July, representatives of VILNIUS TECH visited Tallinn University of Technology (TalTech), where they met with Professor Anton Rassõlkin from the Department of Electrical Power Engineering and Mechatronics.
During the visit, the progress and challenges of the international project under the NORDPLUS programme, “Strengthening the Skills of Future Engineers for Developing Energy-Saving Autonomous Systems” (ENERGYCOM 2024, NPHE 2024/10402), were discussed.
The discussions focused on solutions for sustainable energy use and ways to promote the implementation of sustainability principles within the academic community.

VILNIUS TECH was represented by Rūta Mikučionienė and Šarūnas Mikučionis, who were particularly interested in teaching activities aimed at improving energy-use sustainability, as well as initiatives that encourage and foster sustainable habits within the university.
Further opportunities for collaboration across various study fields were explored. The participants visited the Direct Current Laboratory and the Electric Transport Laboratory, and toured TalTech’s infrastructure supporting sustainable community practices. The visit also provided insights into TalTech’s initiatives to achieve its sustainability goals and explored potential future collaboration formats, including Erasmus+ and other partnerships.
