KIF Student Films on the Big Screen: "Summer Media Studio" Short Film Premiere
The international creative film workshop "Summer Media Studio 2025" culminated this year in an impressive premiere held at one of the country's largest cinemas, "Forum Cinemas Vingis." The short films presented on the big screen were the result of intensive work in which students from the Faculty of Creative Industries, alongside participants from various countries, completed the entire filmmaking journey in just a few weeks—from the birth of an idea to the final product. These films showcased the creativity, maturity, professionalism, and ability of the young creators to collaborate in an international environment. The premiere not only provided an opportunity to share their ideas with a broad audience but also symbolically concluded a creative journey that spanned several weeks.
The festive evening took place in two of the cinema's auditoriums, which were packed with viewers. The event was ceremoniously opened by the long-time head of the "Summer Media Studio" project, Inesa Kurklietytė, who emphasized the importance of these workshops for the careers of young filmmakers.

Film Communication and Entertainment Production student Gaudija Būtaitė (film: Sūru/Salty) received an award for the Best Depiction of the Curonian Spit Landscape.
Film communication students significantly contributed to the success of the short film premiere in Vilnius by actively participating in the event's organization and ensuring its smooth execution: "We are incredibly happy to have had the opportunity to participate in such an international workshop. It is not only a unique experience creating films with creators from other countries but also a special chance to present our work in Vilnius, on the big screen. This experience has greatly inspired us and strengthened our self-confidence," shared the film communication students.
The Dean of the Faculty, Prof. Dr. Vaida Asakavičiūtė, emphasizes the importance of this project:
"The international Summer Media Studio film workshop project has brought the community of the Faculty of Creative Industries and film market professionals closer together, opening new opportunities for collaboration. Our long-standing partnership with the Audiovisual Arts Industry Incubator provides our students in the Entertainment Production and Creative Industries programs with unique international experiences and helps develop competencies in communication, technology, and film project management. It is more than just a project—it is a journey that helps students discover their talents and opens doors to the international film market. We are proud of our students and wish them determination as they ascend in the world of filmmaking."
This year, the project was crowned with an impressive event—the premiere on the big screen. The event was attended by VILNIUS TECH Rector Prof. Dr. Romualdas Kliukas, Vice-Rector Assoc. Prof. Dr. Živilė Sederevičiūtė-Pačiauskienė, Head of the International Relations Office Erika Danienė, as well as the Rector of Kherson National Technical University (KNTU), Olena Chepelyuk, and other guests from the university, along with a large crowd of film lovers and students.
