VGTU and Bentley Systems signed a strategic cooperation Agreement
Company "Bentley Systems", global leader in engineering design systems and Vilnius Gediminas Technical University (VGTU) signed a strategic cooperation Agreement.
The Agreement implies the implementation of the latest software and engineering design technologies for the professional training of VGTU engineers. The Agreement will enable learning to use modern technologies and to promote students career in modern companies abroad.
The Agreement is the first strategic partnership document of such kind, which Bentley Systems and JSC "IN RE", the authorized representative for the Baltic countries, signed with the institution of higher education of Lithuania. The main engineering study programms of architecture, environment, construction, roads and railways, electronic engineering and others, will be renewed following the Agreement. Innovative information systems will be applied in the whole study process, i.e. during professional training, in scientific research and for consultations, expertise and projects.
The Agreement was signed by Alfonsas Daniunas, Rector of VGTU, Ted Lamboo, Vice-president of "Bentley Systems" and Vladimir Popov, Director of JSC "IN RE".
Timo Tuukkanen, Director for Transport and Local Infrastructure Industry from Bentley Systems, Girene Sciukaite, Human Resource Manager for the Eastern Europe, Vladimir Popov, Director of JSC ‘‘IN RE‘‘, the authorized representative of Bentley Systems in Lithuania, and VGTU representatives: Asta Radzeviciene, Deputy-Rector for International Relations, Ausra Pelediene, Director of International Relations Directorate, Linas Juknevicius, Deputy Dean of Construction Faculty and Darius Migilinskas, Associate Professor of Construction Technology and Management Department participated in the meeting.
"Cooperation between science and business is of utmost importance nowadays for preparation of highly qualified specialists. This partnership will result in better application of modern information technologies and engineering systems during the training process as well as strengthen the technological leadership of VGTU, ensuring greater perspectives for the youth in the labour market in Lithuania and abroad", - said Alfonsas Daniunas, Rector of VGTU, after signing of the Agreement.
