Graduates of 2 year Master's degree studies receive a Master of Informatics Sciences.
Artificial intelligence (AI) is a rapidly developing field with an increasing impact on the economy and society. Specialists who develop advanced AI solutions are not only highly regarded on the labour market, but also contribute to the overall positive impact on society and the global economy. Although the United States leads the world in artificial intelligence area, Europe's strategy is aimed at a breakthrough in artificial intelligence. Therefore, it is planned that in Europe as well as Lithuania the need for artificial intelligence experts will only grow over time. The master's study program in Engineering of Artificial Intelligence focuses on preparing the next generation of AI specialists. The studies will not only delve into the core principles of the methods and technologies used in artificial intelligence. They will also focus on understanding and applying the latest technologies in different fields. The applied dimension will be ensured by mastering existing and emerging AI technologies for processing and generating different types of data (numeric, text, images, audio), by delving into the nuances of the infrastructure used for the relevant AI solutions (distributed systems, big data, the Internet of Things), taking into account the ethical, legal and end-user acceptance requirements of AI solutions.

What are the outcomes of this study programme?
Knowledge
• Explain in detail the concepts, technologies, applied tools, methods and limitations of artificial intelligence and it related fields, based on knowledge in the field of computer science, the results of fundamental or applied scientific research.
• Based on facts and reasonable assumptions, connect different knowledge in the field of informatics, including but not limited to systems modeling, data processing, visualization and analysis, artificial intelligence and machine learning methods, thus forming a more complete picture of the evaluated problem or solution, possible solutions and future perspectives.
• Apply the in-depth field of studies in informatics, mostly concentrating on the knowledge of artificial intelligence, in creating solutions for solving scientific or professional problems and conducting scientific research.
Research skills
• Critically, reasonably, at different levels of abstraction, evaluate the presented and obtained knowledge, received data, proposed solutions, taking into account the influence of relevant legal, business, industrial, economic and/or social contexts and the complexity of the problem.
• By applying effective research methodology and/or the most appropriate data analysis technologies, comprehensively investigate and solve the scientific or professional problem of the computer science field of study.
Special skills
• Model new, insufficiently defined problems of different fields of activity, by applying scientific research methodology and formal methods of computer science, fully taking into account actual, potential limitations and raised or extracted requirements.
• Methodically, applying details of different levels of abstraction, prepare the specification of the research or artificial intelligence solution being developed, the documentation of the obtained results and the descriptions of the development possibilities for researching or solving a new, complex, insufficiently defined problem.
• After evaluating the impact of the technological and management solutions that can be used on the final implementation of the research or a new, complex, insufficiently defined task, based on reasonable conclusions, the most suitable means plan and properly implement a new or modify an existing artificial intelligence solution.
Social skills
• Communicate fluently and professionally on topics in the field of artificial intelligence and digitization in national and English languages.
• Effectively work in teams and lead them in compliance with the principles and rules of professional, ethical behavior and social responsibility.
Personal skills
• Independently and systematically investigate the latest technologies and solutions, creatively looking at their use and possible expansion in different tasks, in order to achieve personal, professional and scientific development.
• Apply a responsible and sustainable approach to activities performed independently and in a group, taking the initiative to propose the necessary solutions and assuming personal responsibility.
To achieve the objectives of the program, students during their studies will be involved in challenges offered by various organizations, ongoing research projects. Lectures will be held in cycles, concentrating simultaneously on one or two subjects of study. They will master them in 1-2 months, and then moving on to the next subject of study provided for in the program. Lectures will be given not only by scientists and representatives of Lithuanian institutions, but also by experts from other countries. This will allow students to have a wider range of study experiences and international knowledge of the field.
