CASSINI Hackathon Returns to Lithuania: Innovate Healthcare Solutions Using Space Technology
Vilnius, Lithuania – April 2025 – The 9th CASSINI Hackathon is coming to Lithuania, challenging innovators to revolutionize healthcare using space technology. Hosted at Vilnius Tech from May 16 to May 18, 2025, this year's theme, "Space for Healthcare," invites entrepreneurs, scientists, and engineers to tackle pressing public health challenges with cutting-edge space data and technology.
Participants will work with data from Copernicus Earth Observation, Galileo Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS), and EGNOS, developing groundbreaking solutions in three core challenge areas:
Monitoring Disease Outbreaks and Health Risks – Use satellite data to predict and track disease spread, environmental risks, and public health threats.
Smart Emergency Healthcare Delivery – Innovate new ways to enhance emergency response, ensuring faster and more efficient healthcare services.
Mental Health and Well-Being – Create solutions that assess and improve mental health, leveraging environmental and space-based insights.
The best teams will pitch their solutions to expert judges, competing for equity-free grants, mentorship, and cash prizes at both the local and European levels.

Local prizes (Lithuania):
1st place – €3,000 equity-free grant & Invitation to the BSV Ventures Incubation Program
2nd place – 4 hours of individual mentorship from BSV Ventures experts
3rd place – 2 hours of individual mentorship from BSV Ventures experts
European-level competition:
1st place – €5,000
2nd place – €3,000
3rd place – €1,000
Top teams will also gain access to the CASSINI Mentoring Program, a six-month acceleration initiative designed to transform hackathon projects into viable startups.
