COVID-19: FAQ for new full-time international students

The symptoms of coronavirus are similar to the symptoms of flu: a high temperature, a cough, feeling short of breath and other respiratory disorders, muscle pain and fatigue. More complicated cases of coronavirus may lead to pneumonia, severe acute respiratory syndrome, kidney insufficiency or death.

Preventive measures
It is important to remember, that wearing face masks and washing hands are the most important preventive measures against contracting virus. Hands should be washed frequently and thoroughly with water and soap for at least 20 seconds. In case there is no water and soap, use alcohol-based hand sanitiser containing at least 60% of alcohol. Also avoid touching your eyes, nose, and mouth with unwashed hands.
INFORMATION FOR NEW FULL-TIME INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS

Should I postpone studying abroad this year?

We strongly encourage students to hold on to their study abroad plans for the time being. At the moment, everybody is affected, hence we are reacting to the situation and we are looking for ideas on how to organize the next student intake period.

As we can see from the past months, it is hard to plan and predict how we will be able to organise studies in September. At the moment we are planning to start everything as normal, face to face lectures. However, , if it will be needed and we will be not able to have the lectures face to face yet, we will act accordingly. Depending on the situation in Lithuania, the lectures might be held fully offline, fully online or in a blended format (some of the lectures online, some offline)

Will 2021 study start date be postponed?

The new academic year 2021/2022 should start as normal – 1st of September.

If I am delayed for the September intake because of the pandemic, will my start date be postponed?

As we can see from the past months, it is hard to plan and predict how we will be able to organise studies in September. At the moment we are planning to start everything offline on time.

Will courses now be offered online or in a blended format as a result of the current pandemic?

Considering the situation of Covid-19 in Lithuania, at the moment we are planning to start everything as normal, face to face lectures. However, as we can see from the past months, it is hard to plan and predict how we will be able to organise studies in September. At the moment we are planning to start everything offline on time.
