When does the Force majeure rule apply?
The Force majeure rule applies when country / city borders are closed and there is no possibility of departure / arrival and / or in cases where the host institution formally cancels mobility due to COVID-19. In cases where, following quarantine in a country / city, studies in closed research and study institutions are carried out remotely, the Force majeure rule does not apply.
What to do when the host institution moves to a virtual internship process? Will I need to repay the scholarship while staying in the host country?
In cases where the host institution moves to a virtual internship process and the mobility participant remains in the host institution's country, there is no need to reimburse the scholarship paid to the participant. Trainee should physically be in the mobility country to maintain the grant.
Is it necessary to return the scholarship if force majeure applies?
It is not necessary to return the scholarship in case of Force Majeure. The scholarship will be recalculated according to the number of days you have physically stayed in the mobility country.
If the trainee returns to Lithuania before the end of the mobility period and the time spent in the host institution will be less than 2 months (60 days), then the trainee will need to return the full Erasmus+ scholarship received.

What is blended mobility and how does it benefit in a COVID-19 situation?
Blended mobility is combined with physical mobility abroad and virtual mobility when studying/having internship in Lithuania. Minimum duration of physical mobility of the internship is 2 months (60 days). The scholarship is awarded only for the period of physical mobility (the scholarship is calculated in the usual way for the period of mobility abroad by groups of countries). During the virtual mobility the scholarship is not granted, except when the student physicaly is in the country of participation.
What safety measures could be used by the participants?
Participants insurance must cover the duration of the internship and include:
• liability (including professional indemnity or insurance for responsibility);
• accident and serious illness* (including permanent or temporary incapacity, including death and repatriation in case of projects carried out abroad);
• health insurance.
The indicated insurance is obligatory for all Erasmus+ participants. When getting a private insurance, make sure it is valid at the location of the internship. Inform the insurance company, if you are going to work in more risky situations than office (f.e. construction site), make sure the risks related to Covid-19 are covered in the insurance policy.

What is the prevention of possible losses?
• Contact the host institution to make sure that they are continuing their activities and accepting incoming mobility activities.
• Check the constantly updated recommendations of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs for traveling abroad policies.
• It is recommended to buy tickets with a refundable option.
• Avoid prepayments at hotels or other services as much as possible.
