The 12th International IEEE Lithuania and Latvia Section Workshop Took Place at VILNIUS TECH
On May 16th, the 12th international IEEE Lithuania and Latvia Section Workshop – Advances in Information, Electronic and Electrical Engineering (AIEEE) – was held at VILNIUS TECH, bringing together researchers and young scientists in the fields of computer science, electronics, and electrical engineering.
The goal of the workshop was to encourage collaboration in areas such as computer technologies, audio and image processing and recognition, automatic control, robotics, telecommunications, hardware and software engineering, information technologies, information systems, system security and control, information security, e-commerce and e-governance, cloud computing, human-computer interaction, next-generation computing, the internet and web applications, mobile computing, and semantic web technologies.
This year, two oral and one poster presentation sessions were organized, during which researchers and young scientists from the fields of computer science, electronics, and electrical engineering presented their latest scientific research. A total of 38 scientific presentations were delivered.
A technical seminar was also held during the workshop, featuring the latest scientific research in the field of microwave devices and systems. Eight oral presentations were given during the seminar.
For the first time this year, the international IEEE Lithuania and Latvia Section Workshop hosted a VILNIUS TECH first-year PhD students’ scientific seminar, where doctoral students presented their ongoing research. These presentations focused primarily on literature reviews and the challenges faced during the dissertation preparation process (6 oral presentations).
In total, 76 papers were submitted for participation in the workshop. After the peer-review process, 43 scientific papers were accepted and will be published in the workshop proceedings, which will appear in the IEEE Xplore database.
The best oral presentation award was given to Lukas Šalavėjus and his colleagues for their presentation titled "Sub-1V Bandgap Reference Design using TSMC 180nm BCD Process". The best poster presentation award went to Deniss Kolosovs for his poster titled "Acoustic Signal Multipoint Equalization and Suppression for Multiple Signal Transmission."
The workshop was jointly organized by the IEEE Lithuania and Latvia Sections, Vilnius Gediminas Technical University (VILNIUS TECH), Riga Technical University, IEEE Lithuania Section’s Education, Computer, Joint Signal Processing, Computational Intelligence and Communications Societies Chapters, and the Young Professionals Club, as well as the IEEE Latvia Section’s Computer, Joint Power Electronics, Industrial Electronics, and Industry Applications Societies Chapters.
