CAREER COUNSELLING
Why would anyone need career counseling? It is usually useful when facing questions related to the choices in life, when one wants to find out what are the best work/salary opportunities, how to represent yourself to the employer, so he could see the best in you, etc. During the consultations with career specialist students will be able to analyze their career issues, to create an individual career plan, to prospect vision and develop a strategy that would lead to a successful career. We could also devote the time during the session to finding what are your strengths and weaknesses, your values - so you could get to know yourself better and be ready to choose your career more wisely.
If needed, the counseling sessions can be continuous.
There are 4 main questions the career counselor can help you answer:
1. How to know yourself better?
2. How to write your CV and MOTIVATIONAL LETTER
3. What are the best job search strategies?
4. What to expect at a job interview?
If you would like to write your resume but don't know where to start, try THIS TEMPLATE with tips - just download it, fill in your information, save it, and you will have a neutral resume. If you have a professional photo, you might consider adding it, but the picture is not necessary.
You can also check out easy-to-use templates at Wozber
It is not difficult to avoid subjective bias at the beginning of the job search process. There are some main rules. When looking for a job, you don't have to reveal:
- Your appearance - the photo in your resume is not necessary
- Your nationality (unless it's an asset in some international companies)
- Your exact age
- Your marital status
- Any other personal/sensitive information (about your health condition, religious or political beliefs, etc).
Sometimes a template or some impersonal tips are not enough. Then do not hesitate and contact the career counselor for a meeting or an online session.
