Product Development Project, or PdP: what is it?
PdP is an international programme that has been running for three decades, organised by Aalto University in Finland. The essence of the course is to give students the opportunity to take part in a real product development process in collaboration with real industry partners. The programme is built on the principle of passion-based learning, which encourages creative problem-solving.
VILNIUS TECH “LinkMenų fabrikas” joined this project together with other members of the “Design Factory Global Network”.
The aim of the “LinkMenų fabrikas” team is to find, every year, students who are ready to create and experiment and who would join the PdP programme. The team also helps the selected students to take full part in the programme, mentoring them and advising them on technical matters.
The selected VILNIUS TECH students take part in the full nine-month programme alongside Aalto University students. Within the team, students take on different roles and attend weekly online lectures organised by Aalto University. Twice a year (in October and May), students travel to Helsinki to take part in the programme’s sprint and closing weeks. These trips are funded by VILNIUS TECH’s Erasmus+ programme.
