Laboratory of Acoustics (accredited)
The laboratory has more than 30 years of experience in the field of building and partition constructions acoustics, noise control in residential and working environments. It also carries out laboratory and in situ accredited measurements of acoustic descriptors, sound classification of buildings, environmental noise monitoring, as well as conducting scientific research.
The laboratory was given an accreditation certificate Nr.LA.01.28 in 28-09-1999 and was approved in technical expertise in accordance with accreditation scope (see crypt:PGEgaHJlZj0ibWFpbHRvOmh0dHA6Ly93d3cubmFiLmx0Ij5odHRwOi8vd3d3Lm5hYi5sdDwvYT4=:xx) by Lithuanian National Accreditation Bureau (LA).
Notified testing laboratory status was achieved when VGTU Institute of thermal insulation (laboratory of acoustics) began to carry out notified measurements on sound absorption of thermal insulation materials and conformity assessment under provisions of Directives 89/106/EEC, approved by LA's scope of accreditation in 02-10-2009 (Europe's granted notification certificate Nr.1688-CPD). In 01-07-2013 the laboratory was reaccredited (Nr.1688-CPR) to perform notified stability of acoustic properties performance evaluation and verification of construction products (thermal insulation materials, glass units, windows and doors) in accordance with EU regulation Nr.305/2011 (see scope of notification at http://www.nab.lt and http://europa.eu.int/comm/enterprise/nando-is/cpd).

Laboratory of Thermal Insulating Materials (accredited)
The scientists of Laboratory have been testing physical-mechanical and thermal-technical characteristics of thermal insulating materials and products for more than 40 years. The main areas are the investigation of compressive behaviour under short and long-term compression as well as long-term prediction of their deformability. Other area is the investigation and prediction of moisture characteristics and their influence on thermal conductivity while calculating thermal characteristics of layered building envelopes.
Since 1996 the Laboratory has been accredited for quality assurance testing of thermal insulating materials and products (relevant flexible accreditation scope). Accreditation certificate No LA.01.004 (see http:/www.nab.lt).
Since 2005 the Scientific Institute of Thermal Insulation has been registered as notified body (identification number 1688) for the evaluation of performance according to requirements of Regulation (EU) No 305/2011 of the European Parliament and Council (according to the 3rd system). The main function of Laboratory under evaluation of performance according to the 3rd system is product type determination tests.
On the basis of contractual agreements the Laboratory may perform the following work:
