Why this programme?
This study programme is designed for those who are interested in aircraft mechanics, aircraft constructions, engines , mechanical systems, aerodynamics or even UAV’s or satellites, and want a future career related to the field of aviation or event aerospace!
We see innovation in aeronautics as an interdisciplinary product, thereby your knowledge in the fields of electronics, mechanics, IT, transportation, aeronautics and any other branch of engineering will facilitate your team and provide the competitive advantage over the others.
The aim of the study program is to prepare highly qualified specialists who have acquired interdisciplinary and novel knowledge in the field of aeronautical engineering. These specialists are capable independently solve aircraft constructions and engine engineering tasks, engineer, draw, model and develop new aircraft projects. In addition, graduates are able to apply acquired knowledge in activities of aviation companies, use high technologies in various work places, analyse and creatively solve technical, administrative and legal aircraft development, production and operation issues that usually are topical worldwide, and newly evaluate the influence and importance of decisions made by speciality engineers to the development of society.

What will you learn?
After graduation you will be able to:
• draw and engineer aircraft mechanical parts and systems with the help of computer modelling software;
• perform calculations of aircraft flight aerodynamic characteristics and assess them;
• analyse aircraft wings and their profile parameters, select optimum numerical values of wing parameters;
• make decisions on organization of aircraft technical maintenance and technical performance of works;
• independently perform repair works of various aircraft units;
• understand UAV and CubeSAT technologies;
• understand legal aspects of aircraft engineering and maintenance organizations.

Where can you do an internship?
Professional internships are carried out in companies with the most recent production facilities and technologies in Lithuania and abroad. Students acquire practical skills working with the equipment, technolog and learn about the company management.
Exchange period abroad?
The aviation industry is unquestionably international, and international experience – is important for every specialist aspiring to work in it. As VILNIUS TECH Aviation Institute's is a member of PEGASUS network students and lecturers can participate in various international cooperation and exchange programmes, providing the possibility for VILNIUS TECH Aviation Institute's students to gain international experience in foreign higher education institutions, preparing aviation specialists. Acquaintance with the aviation sector abroad, experience of working in a multicultural team and active use of professional English – are only a few advantages of mobility for studies or practice.
CUSTOMIZE YOUR EXPERIENCE
You will have plenty of opportunities to apply and diversity your skills through graduate projects, internships, career programmes, clubs and societies.
What are the career opportunities after after?
Obtain employment in the fields of aeronautical and aerospace industries: as specialists or senior specialists of various aviation companies; as an aviation mechanics engineer in UAB FL Technics, UAB Avionexpress, UAB Airhub, Ryanair, VSAT aviation unit;
Design satellites, and their systems in companies like: UAB Astrolight; UAB Nanoavionics, UAB Blackswan;
Design UAVs and their systems in companies like: UAB IT logika; UAB UDS; UAB Aviatic MRO; UAB AeroDiagnostika

Student projects at AGAI
Students at AGAI are encouraged to get involved in various practical projects. Currently, they are participating in workshops with lecturers to revive some of our old aircraft for new life to be used for study and training purposes as models and educational material.
See our progress here.
Another great example of a multidisciplinary project completed in joint efforts with lecturers and students at AGAI is a smart UAV for aerial mapping and video monitoring. It joins knowledge and skills of aerodynamics, electronics and aircraft operations to make sure that the UAV does exactly what it is designed to do.
See our results here.
To mark a 100 year anniversary, the Antanas Gustaitis Aviation Institute of Vilnius Gediminas Technical University (VILNIUS TECH AGAI) flew their unmanned aircraft over Lithuania and covered a distance of 397 km.
The purpose of the flight over Lithuania was to test the system of the new VILNIUS TECH AGAI unmanned aircraft, to test the communication and communication systems under real conditions and to gain experience in the operation of unmanned aircraft for long distances.
